Kustom Airstrike 2010 - Durban, South Africa
Thursday, 06 May 2010
Kustom is again on its global mission to find surfers that will revolutionize the world of surfing. The Kustom Airstrike is a single-trick surfing contest that started on January 1st 2010, and will span for eight months to drown the most radical surfer with the craziest air, in a grand prize of $50,000.
Surfers qualify for the $50,000 by submitting a video clip of their best aerial maneuver to the Kustom Air Strike website (www.kustomairstrike.com)
Filming the surfers as they skillfully attempt their best aerial maneuvers was a daunting and challenging task that Silver Bullet Productions (SBP) signed up for.
On 28 April 2010 SBP was on Umhlanga Beach at the Kustom Air Strike event to capture the invigorating, fast and futuristic surfing from Australian Ryan Callinan. Thomas Woods, Beyrick De Vries, Dan Redman and Casey Grant all provided strong competition for Callinan, who was fresh off the Billabong Pro Junior where he nabbed 2nd place.
This time Callinan reached for gold with a massive Forehand Single Grab Air 360 move that helped him snatch victory and Kustom Air Strike South Africa awarded him with R5, 000.
Callinan pushed for a radical aerial performance that has landed him the chance to win $50,000. Check out his crazy air and vote for your favorite at www.kustromairstrike.com. The top rated clips will be judged and the best surfer will receive fifty gees.
